Our Friendship Choir welcomes new members – no auditions, just come along to meet us and enjoy a cheerful hour!

Fancy trying the ukulele? Do come in on Wednesdays between 10.30 and 11 am to find out about our beginners’ group. The class runs from 11 to 12 noon.

If you would like more information on Qi Gong in general, please email Barbara on bbshiatsu@gmail.com or give her a ring on 07733 396 891.

Regular Activities:

MONDAYS 2 - 3pm The Friendship Choir

The Friendship Choir is back! All welcome – no auditions. If you enjoy singing, please come and join us.

TUESDAYS 10:30 - 12 noon Craft Group

Craft Group. This group meets in the Lounge – bring some knitting, crochet, tapestry or other craft. Enjoy a chat and maybe learn new skills.

WEDNESDAYS 10.30 - 12 noon East Sussex Hearing Support Team

We have a new monthly group run by the East Sussex Hearing Support Team on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. They will be offering advice, support and information for anyone with a hearing loss, including advice on the maintenance of hearing aids. Do come and meet others who are hard of hearing.

Also on Wednesday mornings is a Ukulele Group for Beginners. Bring your ukulele (and tuner) along at 10.30 am and learn how to play!

WEDNESDAYS 2:15 -3:15 pm Qi Gong

Qi Gong stimulates the body’s energy levels through postural exercises and slow gentle movements grounded in ancient Chinese practices. It exercises but does not tire joints, tendons and muscles and uses the mind to support the body. It is really beneficial for many physical health conditions and also for combatting stress and fatigue and boosting mood. Come for a taster session – you may need to go on our waiting list. £30 for 6 sessions.

THURSDAYS 10:30 - 11:30 am Extend - Movement and Music Class

Extend - Music and Movement Class with Ffion Wilkes. This group is meeting in the Lounge – come and improve your fitness now that life is opening up again! Gentle exercises to music. £4 per session. Again, do come for a taster.

FRIDAYS 10:30 - 12 noon 'Be Smart' Workshop

Struggling with your smart phone, tablet or laptop? If you also have some hearing impairment, do contact the Technical Team from East Sussex Hearing Support in Eastbourne. They are currently running a course entitled “Be Smart” to help older people make full use of their smart phone or tablet. They will be coming in to the House of Friendship on the first Friday of each month to run this course. For more information, and to book your place, please call Carina on 01323 722505, or text 07950 855 580 or email techteam@eshrc.org.

We also hold occasional Coffee Mornings on Friday mornings. Thank you to those who came to support the Red Cross appeal for the people of Ukraine on April 8th; we raised over £250 - a record!
