Lewes House of Friendship
Lewes House of Friendship
Lewes House of Friendship is based at 208 High Street, Lewes (next to Flint Owl Bakery). We provide a range of activities of interest to older members of the local community and a place where you can meet for companionship and to make new friends - we also offer teas, coffees and a hot lunch.
We are open from 10am to 1.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Home -cooked lunches for £7 (members) and £8 (visitors) - served at 12.30pm. Please call us to book ahead, by the previous day at the latest, on 01273 476469. Let us know if you have any allergies or need a vegetarian option.

A message from Heather Hicks, our Chairman
After 16 rewarding years as Chairman of the House of Friendship, I’ve decided to step down at the AGM in August and let someone else take the lead.
We have started advertising for a new Chair and I have every confidence that the right person is out there somewhere.
If you think that person might be you, full particulars can be found on the Vacancies page of this website.
All hot drinks here are £2 each - coffee, tea or hot chocolate.
NEW! Help with your phone!! We have phone experts coming into the House for drop in sessions. If you need any help or are feeling frustrated with your phone, come and see us between 11.00am and 12.30pm every Friday. No need to book.
NEW! Memory Choir
For anyone who has issues with memory including dementia.
It started in January and from June 7th we'll be meeting every Wednesday 2.30pm to 3.30 pm - all welcome. A cup of tea will be provided.
Music is back in the Lewes House of Friendship! The Friendship Choir and Ukulele Group have both resumed - all welcome - have a look on our activities page where more details are available.
New room for hire! Our former snooker room has been redecorated and furnished. It is ready for hire! Find out more on the activities page.
Our Annual Membership Fee (now due!) has gone up.
We have taken the difficult decision to raise our membership fee for 2023 to £15 for a single person and £25 for a couple. Many thanks to all those who have already renewed their membership.
We'd be grateful if other members would come in to pay their subscription soon.
If you are no longer able to come in to the House but would like to keep in touch, give us a ring on 01273 476469 to let us know. Thank you.
Please note that we now have a card reader, so you may like to pay by card when you come in. Otherwise cash or a cheque is fine.
Could you spare around an hour over lunchtime one day per week, to help us deliver hot lunches to our members?
If you are a car owner and you're interested in helping, we'd love to hear from you. Please email us, call us on 01273 476469 or visit us between 10am and 12 noon on weekdays.
